High-level sensitization workshop for NOUN members of Senate, Dean and Directors – 10-12th September 2014 at NOUN headquarters and Best Western Hotel, Bar Beach, Lagos | 2014
Objectives of the workshop was to: stimulate OERs awareness and benefits to NOUN policy makers; trigger the development of an institutional OER Policy for NOUN and other relevant institutions; stimulate well-defined implementation plan for OER transformation of selected course materials; stimulate awareness on MOOCs and OpenupEd Project; identify an outline of implementation plan for the OpenupEd, including the estimated cost and time-frames for transforming NOUN course materials.
PhD Researcher in OER | 2014
NOUN OER-Unit was able to attract a slot in PhD in Open Educational Resources. This was achieved under the Global OER Graduate Network headed by Prof Fred Mulder (OER Chair, Open University, the Netherlands). The candidate is Mr. Elvis Otamere, Chief System Analyst, ICT Unit, NOUN. He recently presented his research proposal during the 3rd GO-GN workshop at Hilton Crystal City Hotel, Washington DC.
